Mr. Luther Rivers, 74, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

The relatives and friends of Mr. Luther Rivers are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM in First Baptist Church of James Island, 1110 Camp Road, James Island, SC. Interment will follow at New Jerusalem African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, Tacky Point Road, Wadmalaw Island, SC. A public walk-through viewing will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Murray's Mortuary - North Charleston Chapel, 4060 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC.

Mr. Rivers leaves to cherish his memories:  his wife of almost fifty years, Vernelle; three children: Richard Jeffrey (JJ), Terry Deshaun, and Angela Vernelle (Terry); his five grandchildren: Maurice (Alexus), Joshua, Jordon, Breonia, and Tra'Maine; great-granddaughters: Noehlle and Ava; brothers: Bernard (Jacqueline) Rivers, Eugene (Lucille) Rivers, and Frank Rivers; sisters: Catherine Rivers, Sandra Rivers, Maxine Rivers, and Elaine Rivers-Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
