The relatives and friends of Mr. Kevin LaMont White, Jr. are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church.

Mr. Kevin LaMont White, Jr., 35, of Ladson, SC, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Kevin LaMont White, Jr. was born on April 1, 1989 in Charleston, South Carolina to the loving parents of Barbara J. Simmons-White and Kevin L. White, Sr. From a young age, Kevin was immersed in the Dorchester District 2 school system, attending elementary, middle, and high school in the area. It was during his time in grade school that Kevin's passion for sports, particularly football, truly blossomed. An accomplished athlete, Kevin went on to complete his undergraduate and master's degree in education at the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he also pledged the Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.

Using his educational background, Kevin dedicated himself to sharing his love of physical activity with the next generation, working as a physical education teacher at Fort Dorchester Elementary School. However, his involvement in the local sports community didn't end there - Kevin also served as a wide receiver coach for the Fort Dorchester High School Patriots, pouring his heart and soul into mentoring young athletes. Football was Kevin's true calling, and he reveled in every opportunity to play the sport he adored, whether it was on the field or virtually through his love of the Madden video game series.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Kevin was a vibrant and well-rounded individual who cherished time spent traveling and exploring new cuisines. His love for life and infectious personality endeared him to all who knew him.

Now, Kevin leaves behind a remarkable legacy, mourned by his devoted mother, father, sister, Ivory, grandmother, Claretta Reeves, and a host of loving aunts and uncles, including Patricia (Walter) Bauldrick, Barbara Brown, Marva (Merlin) Sabb, Gwendolyn Frasier, Keith (Carrie) White, Esther Wilkins, Miriam Simmons, and Leona Frazier. Each one cherished Kevin dearly and are heartbroken to see him gone. Even his great-aunts, Rosetta Bligen and Nathalie McGill, who watched him grow from a young boy into a promising young adult, are devastated by this tragic loss. Beyond his immediate and extended family, Kevin also leaves behind countless cousins and dear friends, all of whom were touched by his kind spirit, quick wit, and zest for life.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph G. White, Sr. and Sarah N. White; his uncle, Joseph G. White, Jr.; and aunt, Jocelyn Simmons.

Though his presence is gone, the lasting impact of Kevin's life will continue to be felt by all fortunate enough to have known and loved him. His legacy of warmth, humor, and compassion will live on, a beacon of light in the lives he so profoundly influenced.
