Mr. James Ford, Jr., 85, of Wadmalaw Island, SC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
James Henry Ford, Jr. was born on September 21, 1940, to the late James Ford, Sr. and Mary G. Ford. He was the oldest son with 10 siblings.
He resided on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina his entire life and attended Haut Gap High School. He was a father, a grandfather, loving sibling and a steadfast friend. Since 1974, James was a member of St. James Bethel AME Church, where he served on the Usher Board, Steward Board and as assistant class leader.
James (also known as "Boy Ford," "Cool Papa") worked for 3L Trucking, Ford Redi Mix, Redi Mix and Willams Trucking as a truck driver for over forty (40) years. He was an avid fan of his cars, blues music, classic 70's TV, quartet singing, Lenny Williams, and connecting with trucking friends.
He leaves behind his seven (7) children: six (6) sons, Slyvester Frazier (Hazel), James Ford, III (Apostle Gertie), Anthony Robinson (Yolanda), Clinton Byron Ford (Monique), Keenan Omar Ford (Brenda), LaJayce Ford, and one (1) daughter, Nakia Karchina Ford.
Preceding in death were his parents, Mr. James Ford Sr. and Mrs. Mary G. Ford; one daughter; one sister Mrs. Mary Lee; and one brother Lester Ford
He leaves to keep his memories four (4) sisters, Mrs. Alice (Charles d.), Mrs. Sarah Smalls (James/Jimmy), Mrs. Ruth Peterson(James d.), Mrs. Jackie Caldwell (Charles); and four (4) brothers, Mr. Fred Ford (Brenda), Mr. Arthur Ford (Barbara), Mr. John Stanley Ford (Linda), Huger Ford (Geraldine). James also leaves behind a host of thoughtful loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
