It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Mrs. Gloria Jean Simmons Corbin, born November 17, 1947 on James Island, South Carolina. Mrs. Corbin departed this life on September 18, 2024.

Mrs. Corbin is the former first lady of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in North Charleston, South Carolina where the love of her life for over 54 years, the Reverend Clyde James Corbin, served as the pastor until retirement. She was a proud member of the MSWAWO + PK's and Women's Missionary Society of both the Palmetto South Carolina and South Carolina Annual Conferences of the Seventh Episcopal District.

The Corbin's are the proud parents of two daughters and one son, Tylaunda Aliza Corbin of Charleston, South Carolina, Reverend Clyde James Corbin, II (spouse, Dr. Angela B. Corbin) of Cumming, Georgia and Deronda Corbin Washington (spouse, Reverend Jarrett Britton Washington) of North Charleston, South Carolina. The center of her heart were her three grandchildren:  Austin Malik Robinson, Elias James Corbin, III and Braylen Jael Washington.
